How Can I Print to the Copier From My Mobile Device?

More and more businesses are using more than simply their computer or laptop to do work on a daily basis. We are finding there are a lot of clients who use their cell phone just as much as they use their laptop or desktop computer.

In this article, we are going to discuss some ways you can get your printer or copier to print from a mobile device.

Option 1: Email Yourself and Then Print It

This isn’t actually printing from a mobile device, but we have seen many people who need to print from the phone go ahead and do it this way. It was because that was all they knew how to do. This can work in a pinch, but if you need to print from your phone a lot, this would not be our suggested recommendation for you.

Option 2 – Get the App from the Manufacturer:

This works for a lot of clients. They want to print to an HP or a Brother printer, so they go ahead and get the print app from that manufacturer. This is probably the best way for most people. It allows for some degree of control, like you have with your print drivers.

Here are a few examples of some of these apps:

These apps have been tested and approved by the manufacturer, so they should work well, especially if your print fleet is made up of primarily one brand.

Option 3 – 3rd Party Apps

If the manufacturer’s app doesn’t work for you, you will want to consider a 3rd party print app. Here are some examples you may want to consider:

Option 4: Email Device and Enter a PIN Code

Some of the devices on the market will allow you to email a file to the device and then release the job by using a PIN code you set up when you sent your print. This is similar to how some of the copy centers and print shops accomplish the same goal of being able to print from a mobile phone to a printer or copier.

We see print shops often needing solutions because they want to charge their clients for this service. Also, we have seen larger real estate brokers express the same wish because their agents are constantly on the move and they need to print our MLS sheets or agreements for their clients who are not as good with dotloop or Adobe Sign to be able to get ink on the paper.

Our goal is to provide solutions that help your business get to the next level. As more and more people are using mobile devices and not their computers quite as much, we wanted to give you some easy ways to print.
